Dr. P.G. Diwakar joins VGEI as a Principal Research Advisor, bringing over 36 years of distinguished leadership at ISRO, where he held senior roles including Scientific Secretary, Associate Director of Earth Observation System and Deputy Director at the National Remote Sensing Centre. Holding a PhD in Participatory Geomatics and currently serving as Director of the Centre for Sustainability at Chanakya University, he is a renowned expert in space technology, digital image processing, application software and disaster management. Notably leading the implementation of India's flagship Bhuvan Geoportal.

At VGEI, Dr. Diwakar will guide the strategic integration of space technology, geospatial solutions and location intelligence into core research initiatives. His advisory presence will enable VGEI to execute data-driven, high-impact programs in agriculture, water resources and socio-economic development, while leveraging his global network and decades of policy experience to elevate the organization's national and international standing.
